How we got here and a reminder about who God's disciples are called to be in this world.
What a month, amirite? First, let me start by saying that a lot of the gloating + arrogance I've seen from the Conservatives during the month of June has been quite alarming. It is not becoming of Godly people and honestly just further divides and causes more unhinged backlash.
That being said, God did have some wins this month, and His people should rejoice... humbly. The New York State Rifle and Pistol Association v Bruen ruling regarding firearms was very late to the game shall we say, but nevertheless important. Self-defense should not have to be explained in "proper-cause" when living in a place like NYC. I mean, come on.
Then we have the Big Kahuna... Roe v Wade overturned. Now, to any sane/rational individual, this original ruling should never have happened, much less made a precedent. Nowhere, and I repeat, NOWHERE in the Constitution of the United States does it mention a right to abortion. Probably because the founding fathers could never have fathomed the level of baby-killing depravity that would beset our great nation in the next 200 years or so. But here we are.
I will be the first to admit: due to the indoctrination, decay of Western society, corruption of the school systems, and the constant propaganda being pumped into young minds via media + entertainment... there are a lot of people who should not be conceiving children. A LOT. The psychological damage the Gen Z and late Millennials will inflict on children is an abhorrent thought to have. You think the alphabet mafia is bad? Wait until you meet the androgynous transhumanist communists being birthed by the current 20 somethings. (I'm honestly terrified tbh).
So, where do God's people fit into this mess? What do we do about modern day Sodom & Gomorrah slowly infecting our society? What kind of disciples do we need to be?
We are called to be different from the world, not to go along with the world. We should be pushing for Kingdom Culture, not Trendy, Tolerant culture. This "going-along-to-get-along" thing has plunged our society into a dark place simply because decent people and lukewarm Christians think we need to be ToLeRaNt and polite, not judging others. This is categorically false according to the Bible and to what Jesus said. Sure, he sat with sinners and prostitutes... to then tell them to change their ways and repent to follow Him! Sorry, but it annoys me when people purposely misrepresent God.
From a psychological standpoint only, gloating and telling the "other side" how immoral they are is actually having the opposite effect we want. It is causing them to dig their heels in and double-down. Why? Because they do not see it as "self-defense" or "killing babies". Their perception is that of a selfish/narcissistic worldview. So the question becomes, how do we communicate in a way that builds a bridge instead of a wall? Well, ironically, it starts with questions.
This is not the first time I have said this, but this time, I am adding some Godly unity advice in here as well: ask questions and remind them of their cherished place as well as their potential baby's cherished place in God's eyes. "But Gab, these people are scary and unhinged, like do we really want to coexist with them or for them to procreate?" Listen, preaching to the choir ok, but YES. The answer is yes, as much as it pains me to say. It is not my place or your place to rid the world of them, it is God's place, and His wrath alone. Our job is to do our best to bring them back to God, and remind them we are neighbors and allies when they are in a scary place (such as unplanned pregnancies).
Secondly, offer support and options that do not involve commiting murder or harming themselves. Help them find resources and be a beacon of hope.
Life isn't supposed to be easy and suffering is inevitable. We suffer less when we do not engage in fruitless attacks, online or otherwise. I always say "I do what I can, then I give it to God."
